The EPC Committees were set up in early 2024 to support the EPC leadership, drive key projects forward, and give EPC members an opportunity to get directly involved in the work of the society.
There are currently four committees: Education, Research, Guidelines/Quality of Care, and Public Affairs.
At least one Council representative sits on each committee and is responsible for overseeing committee activities and reporting back to the EPC Executive Committee and Council.
Terms run for two years and can be renewed once. All committee members must be active members of the society.
Education
The Education Committee handles all educational initiatives run by the EPC. These currently include managing the EPC educational website (Pancreas Academy), evaluating requests for the endorsement of educational meetings and events, developing and running webinars, coordinating educational activities with other societies, and liaising with sponsors interested in education, among other tasks.
The scope of the Education Committee is broad, and you can expect to see new topics on the agenda in 2025.

Quality of Care / Guidelines
This committee identifies areas/topics for which documents such as guidelines or position statements are needed. This includes updates to previous documents released by the EPC or new initiatives.
Accordingly, the committee proposes a possible timeline with the aim of delivering one document per year to be published in Pancreatology, UEG Journal, or other journals.
Currently, the Quality of Care / Guidelines committee is leading a position paper project on fatty pancreas. Other position paper projects are being planned.
