Course 11 is officially underway!
The 11th course of Pancreas 2000 kicked off in late August in Vellinge, a small town near Malmö. This first meeting was designed as an orientation and teambuilding for the new class of 29 mentees and also included the formation of the project groups and selection of research topics.
Before the meeting kicked off, the Pancreas 2000 mentors met to discuss how to improve the program and also improve their performance as mentors. Further, they worked out the details for Course 11.
The course leadership was very pleased to welcome some new mentors to the course: Miroslav Vujasinovic, Ekin Demir, and Laura Maggino.
Also, a big thank you to those who have served for several years, but decided to take a break from the program due to other commitments: Gabriele Capurso, Jonas Rosendahl, and Sebastien Gaujoux.
In the meantime, the second Pancreas 2000 meeting has taken place in Assmannshausen, near Frankfurt Germany, which focused on acute, chronic, and autoimmune pancreatitis.
The meeting also included a lecture on the fundamentals of medical statistics by the course statistician Patrick Maisonneuve. More guest lecturers are scheduled to speak at upcoming meetings.
