Where Is Lecce, Italy?
Lecce is a city in southern Italy and the former capital of the province of Lecce. It is on the Salatine Peninsula, at the heel of the Italian Peninsula, and is over two thousand years old.
There are two airports that serve Lecce and the surrounding region. These are Bari and Brandisi. We recommend that you fly to Brindisi if possible, since it's closer to Lecce, however, we understand that not everyone will be able to do so.
IMPORTANT - for those flying to Bari
We will be organizing a bus to and from Bari airport. Pick-up is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, April 3rd, at 11:45 CET. Pick up hotel (to airport) on Saturday, April 5th, at 12:45 CET. We will confirm the timings in due course.
For those flying to Brindisi
There are several options for reaching Lecce city center and our hotel:
- Train - about 23 minutes
- Bus - about 30 minutes
- Taxi or other ride service

Please note that Uber and Bolt are not available in Lecce.
Schedule and Agenda
As usual will be starting with lunch around 12:30 on Thursday, April 3rd. The program will end at 12:30 on the Saturday, followed by lunch.
Please plan your arrival and departure times accordingly. Please send me your travel details as soon as you've finalized them.
Hotel and Rooming
Similar to Assmannshausen, we will be sharing rooms again in Lecce. Please let us know your rooming preferences ahead of the meeting. Double rooms will be available, but no triples.
If you would like to book additional nights, this can be done at your own expense. Please reach out to Dawn for reservations and details.
We will be staying in the Mercure Hotel President Lecce. This is also where the meeting will be held.
Additional Costs
As in the past, you are kindly asked to pay for any additional beverages you may wish to consume, including alcoholic beverages. You are also asked to please cover any room service costs or costs for any non-meeting related hotel services.
Please note that bringing your own alcohol for consumption on the hotel premises and restaurants is strictly prohibited.
